Originally I made "Constance," as I call her, for myself but she recently told me she's bored with me and wants to spread her wings and fly to a new, perhaps more exciting, home.
Constance is one of the more lovely head vases I have come across - she is smart and demure all at once with a pleasant countenance, and luckily has her original pearl earrings and necklace, which is not a common thing. She was made by Unesco (Japan) though her label has been lost over time; you can see where it was on her underside. One small thing, she did have a break at some point - but it was so perfectly mended it is almost impossible to see a crack anywhere except on the back of her neck (see last photo). Personally, this did not bother me - and I am particular. So look closely and see if you can find anything bothersome on her front side - I cannot.
Anyway, I had a wonderful time creating her fabulous vintage headdress. It consists of many bits of vintage material: plastic greenery and flourishes, poinsettias and foil leaves, several pieces of vintage jewelry - mostly earrings -, a bottlebrush tree, and a glass pick as a final flourish. I took care to reference the color of her dress and her lipstick when I put all the pieces together and, honestly, I am not only quite proud of how she turned out but also fond of her. I know she will be going to a good home, though, and I wish her - and you - a good, long-term relationship.
Please do look at all the photos close up to be sure she is the girl for you.
